air supply

sure it looked soft, but who knew this kidsilk haze was going to be like buttah? simply a joy to knit. because i feel the need to have at least two projects going at once and i was getting gnarled hands on the ruffles for the latifah scarf, i decided to knit this little nugget. this is going so swimmingly i must knit for all my friends!

Slow and steady wins the race

i could possibly be one of the slowest knitters in the world. but hey.. it's the journey, not the destination, no?

knitting is the perfect road trip past time (that is, if you're not driving - unless you're REALLY a good driver, but i still don't recommend it) though i didn't put on as much length or ruffles as i hoped in our cumulative 12 hour road trip, i have made some progress. too bad i couldn't bring my knitting to keep me busy standing in line at disneyland! geeze, that would be like nirvana for me!

"yo ho yo ho a knitting life for me! we knit and purl and yarn over .. knit up me hearties yo ho! we make one stitch, slip slip knit, bind off me hearties yo ho!!!"

just received some new yarn rowan kidsilk haze to do the "airy scarf" in last minute knitted gifts by joelle hoverson. though it is yet another scarf.. it's more of a neckerchief and a nice feminine accessory. i thought these would make nice little mother's day gifts or just because gifts. not to mention, it's a nice intro to lacework.

Ruffles have ridges

greetings, pixiestitch here.

well, making ruffles is not that hard, but my fingers were like pretzels at the end of one plain ruffle. in retrospect, i should have ignored the pattern and made each colorblock 60 rows instead of 30 so i wouldn't have to gnarl my hands up on so many ruffles to come, but c' est la vie. my career as a hand model was flailing anyway, but won't i be fetching in my ruffled scarf? let's hope so!

Couldn't have said it better....
